Syomir Izwa Eid Collection for Zalora Fashion Show

Hello Sweeties.

On the 29 May 2014, I was invited to be one of the first person who witness Eid Collection by Syomir Izwa for ZALORA.


The collection was showcased at the Syomir Izwa x ZALORA Fashion Show in the Ritz Carlton Hotel, featuring 15 of the top looks. Zalora and Syomir Izwa are collaboration for the exclusive collection that inspired by The Art Deco movement, fervent in European. The concept behind this collection began with Syomir Izwa taking cues from the architectural designs of The Art Deco elements with traditional Baju Kurung aesthetics, weabing the two factors together to create stylish looks ideal for modern women.


This collaboration gives shoppers the chance to own Syomir Izwa pieces that have been designed with the ZALORA customers in mind. KakaoTalk is the exclusive sponsor and partner of the collection. This collaboration is a first-of-its-kind in Malaysia with fashionable feeds via Kakao's Chat App platform pre and during the fashion show, sharing the glitz and glamour of the runway and behind the scenes of the show woth all KakaoTalk users.

Along side the traditional Baju Kurung features, the designer has injected a certain European touch in the designs. The collection features classic black, white, nude and brown tones with macaroon-like hues of peach, turquoise, blue, yellow and lime splashed throughout. The looks are kept fresh by incorporating  subtle pleat sand his signature color-blockings details complete the Art Deco effect.

The collection is made mainly from organic bamboo cotton. The comfort and coolness of the material allows the wearer to feel at ease during the warm festive seasons. The collection somprises of mini kurung sets, baju kurung set as well as long dresses.
